PEMBA Grad Helps Launch Wellness Venture

2001 Physician Executive MBA Graduate Dr. Thomas (Tim) Stover has helped launch a for-profit venture to help hospitals and other entities provide wellness-focused care that prevents disease before it starts. The business model will adapt one used by Akron General Medical Center in Akron, Ohio, for a national clientele. Dr. Stover is president of outpatient services at Akron General.

According to Cheryl Powell of the Akron Beacon Journal, “Akron General’s Health & Wellness centers in Bath Township and Stow and another under construction in Green feature a medically supervised fitness center, as well as diagnostic services, physician offices, rehabilitation services and a satellite emergency department. The Bath facility also includes an outpatient surgery center.”
